What's new:
With the latest update, clients now have the flexibility to pay their invoices directly through a secure link, bypassing the need to log into the Client Portal. As a Canopy user, your process remains unchanged. Upon sending an invoice, your clients will receive the usual email notification, which now includes an additional "Pay now" option. By selecting this secure link, they will be redirected to a new page where they can settle their invoice in full without the necessity of portal access.
Why it matters:
The introduction of this new feature streamlines the payment process for clients, significantly reducing the hassle for those who lack the time to log into the portal, have forgotten their credentials, or face difficulties accessing the client portal. This enhancement is designed to facilitate faster and more convenient transactions.
How it works:
As previously mentioned, this feature will add a "Pay now" button to invoice emails sent to clients, streamlining the payment process. While invoices will continue to be available in the Client Portal, this button allows clients to make payments directly, without the need to log in. The secure payment links will remain active for 45 days, ensuring convenience and security. Should a client not utilize the link within this timeframe, resending the invoice is a straightforward process, providing them with a new secure link.
It's important to note a couple of key points for maintaining security and functionality. Firstly, for security purposes, payment methods used via the Quick Pay feature will not be stored. Additionally, clients will be required to pay the full amount of the invoice through this method; partial payments can only be made through the Client Portal. This ensures a seamless and secure transaction process while offering clients a flexible payment solution.
Where to find it:
The Quick Pay feature will automatically appear on every invoice email that is sent out from Canopy. Invoicing is a feature included in a Time & Billing module license within Canopy. However, utilizing the Quick Pay feature will also require signing up for Canopy Payments in addition to having a Time & Billing license.Registering for Canopy Payments is straightforward and cost-free, with the exception of processing charges for ACH and credit card transactions.
