Little, Shaneyfelt, Marshall, & Co. (LSM), a trusted accounting firm based in Little Rock, Arkansas, has served clients since its inception in the 1980s. In 2022, Aaron Shaneyfelt and his colleagues took ownership from his father, ushering in a new era for the firm.
Building on decades of trusted service, Aaron and his co-owners had a vision to not only preserve LSM’s strong reputation but elevate it to meet the challenges of today’s fast-paced accounting world.

Before Canopy, the firm relied on “a bunch of disparate tools,” such as CCH products for core tax and audit services, eFile Cabinet for document storage, and platforms like Airtable and Asana for workflows. While these tools functioned individually, they operated in silos, creating major inefficiencies that were compounded by the firm's growing client base.
“It didn’t really make sense from an efficiency standpoint,” Aaron admitted. To solve these problems, he began reevaluating the firm’s tech stack, rebuilding it from the ground up.
The Solution
Streamlining Operations with Canopy
After exploring options like TaxDome and Jetpack Workflow, Aaron landed on Canopy for its “single pane of glass” approach, allowing the firm to centralize client information, document storage, and workflows into one easy-to-use platform.

Tasks get done faster, and finding information is no longer a scavenger hunt. “Everyone knows where to go for information now. It’s all in Canopy,” Aaron shared. Additionally, Canopy’s comprehensive training ensured that everyone, from new hires to longtime employees, could use Canopy confidently.
